# Schedule Social Media Posts with Hermes Agent Hermes Agent (open-source agent by Nous Research) Guide: https://lots.social/agents/hermes Add LotsSocial to Hermes Agent’s remote MCP configuration. Hermes can prepare the content and call the publishing tools; LotsSocial connects accounts and holds the schedule. Example workflow: Read this week’s product notes, prepare three LinkedIn drafts and save them in LotsSocial. Return the draft list for review. **Configure the Hermes runtime.** Add the remote URL and private API-key header in Hermes configuration. Restart the session so it discovers the tools. **Give it source material.** Share product notes or content to repurpose. Ask Hermes to use facts from that material when writing the drafts. **Schedule the selected drafts.** Review the output in Hermes or the LotsSocial calendar, then choose the publication dates. Recurring tasks remain your Hermes configuration. ### How do I connect Hermes Agent to LotsSocial? Follow the Hermes Agent setup below to add https://api.lots.social/mcp. Configure your LotsSocial API key using the credential settings shown. Ask your agent to list your connected accounts, then save your first post as a draft. ### Does Hermes need my social-network passwords? No. Connect each network to LotsSocial using its own authorization page. Hermes authenticates to LotsSocial with the API key configured for its MCP connection. ### Which social platforms can Hermes Agent schedule posts to through LotsSocial? Once a compatible connection has write access, LotsSocial provides publishing and scheduling for 12 networks: LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Google Business, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon. Connect your accounts first. Formats, media requirements and available analytics vary by platform. ### Can Hermes Agent save social posts as drafts before scheduling? Yes, through a compatible connection with write tools. Ask for drafts explicitly and review the captions, media and accounts. Drafts remain unscheduled until you ask to schedule them; you choose when to schedule them. ### Will scheduled posts publish after I close Hermes Agent? Once a post is successfully scheduled in LotsSocial, its publishing queue handles delivery at the chosen time even when your agent is closed. Creating new drafts or running a recurring brief still requires your agent. Check post status for platform rejections or failed deliveries. ### Do I need a subscription to use LotsSocial with Hermes Agent? No LotsSocial subscription is required. Pick a plan for a fixed monthly price, or pay per connected account with credits, charged daily. Eligible new users receive free starter credits with no card required, valid for 90 days. Media storage is free and purchased credits never expire. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate. Current rates are on the LotsSocial pricing page. ### Can Hermes Agent manage multiple brands with LotsSocial? Through a compatible connection, your agent can work with brands and their connected accounts inside a workspace. Separate businesses can have separate workspaces. Brands, workspaces, posts and team members are unlimited; connected accounts are covered by your plan or funded with credits. ### LotsSocial tools are not available Check that LotsSocial is enabled for this session and authentication has completed. Reload the connection or start a new session to refresh its tools. Needs: - Hermes Agent with MCP support - A LotsSocial API key Steps: 1. **Add the HTTP server.** Merge this server into mcp_servers in ~/.hermes/config.yaml. Store LOTSSOCIAL_API_KEY privately in ~/.hermes/.env; Hermes resolves the environment reference when it connects. `mcp_servers: lotssocial: url: "https://api.lots.social/mcp" headers: Authorization: "Bearer ${LOTSSOCIAL_API_KEY}"` 2. **Restart Hermes.** Restart your Hermes session to load the server and its tools. 3. **Check the tools.** Ask your agent to list your connected social accounts before asking it to create a draft.
