Release notes to launch posts, from your terminal

01

Start with the actual diff

Ask Claude Code to identify user-visible changes. Keep implementation details out of the announcement unless they matter to your audience.

02

Use the remote publishing tools

Add the LotsSocial MCP server using Claude Code’s MCP command. No LotsSocial CLI needs to be installed.

03

Pick the release time

Review the text, then give Claude Code your accounts and publication time. LotsSocial manages the scheduled delivery.

What can Claude Code do with LotsSocial?

With a compatible connection, your agent can save drafts, schedule posts with images or video, manage connected accounts and retrieve available analytics. LotsSocial handles the publishing schedule; your agent supplies the content and instructions.

Supported networks: LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Google Business, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon. Platform-specific formats and media requirements still apply.

You need

  • Claude Code with a Claude plan

What to ask next

  • “Write a launch post for the changes in this release and save it as a draft for X and LinkedIn”
  • “Schedule the LinkedIn draft for Tuesday at 9am London time”
  • “Connect my LinkedIn and Instagram”

Once connected, when you ask to connect an account, your agent gives you a link to open in your browser. Approve access on the network’s own page; the link works for an hour.

If something goes wrong

lotssocial shows as needing authentication
Run /mcp, select lotssocial and choose Authenticate, or run claude mcp login lotssocial in your terminal.
The browser says Claude Code registered itself and is not verified
That is normal for Claude Code: it registers with each MCP server and receives the sign-in on your own computer. Allow it when the return address is localhost.

Official setup documentation: Claude Code: MCP.

MCP or REST API: use the connection your agent supports.

The remote MCP endpoint is shared. For scripts or an agent with HTTP tools, use the REST API and an API key.

Questions

Claude Code social media scheduling FAQ

How do I connect Claude Code to LotsSocial?
Follow the Claude Code setup below to add https://api.lots.social/mcp. Complete sign-in using the authentication method shown. Ask your agent to list your connected accounts, then save your first post as a draft.
Is this a LotsSocial command-line app?
No. The terminal commands below configure Claude Code’s MCP client. LotsSocial itself is accessed through the hosted MCP server or REST API.
Which social platforms can Claude Code schedule posts to through LotsSocial?
Once a compatible connection has write access, LotsSocial provides publishing and scheduling for 12 networks: LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Google Business, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon. Connect your accounts first. Formats, media requirements and available analytics vary by platform.
Can Claude Code save social posts as drafts before scheduling?
Yes, through a compatible connection with write tools. Ask for drafts explicitly and review the captions, media and accounts. Drafts remain unscheduled until you ask to schedule them; you choose when to schedule them.
Will scheduled posts publish after I close Claude Code?
Once a post is successfully scheduled in LotsSocial, its publishing queue handles delivery at the chosen time even when your agent is closed. Creating new drafts or running a recurring brief still requires your agent. Check post status for platform rejections or failed deliveries.
Do I need a subscription to use LotsSocial with Claude Code?
No LotsSocial subscription is required. Pick a plan for a fixed monthly price, or pay per connected account with credits, charged daily. Eligible new users receive free starter credits with no card required, valid for 90 days. Media storage is free and purchased credits never expire. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate. Current rates are on the LotsSocial pricing page.
Can Claude Code manage multiple brands with LotsSocial?
Through a compatible connection, your agent can work with brands and their connected accounts inside a workspace. Separate businesses can have separate workspaces. Brands, workspaces, posts and team members are unlimited; connected accounts are covered by your plan or funded with credits.
