Post to Social Media from Cursor
Keep product updates beside the work that produced them. Add LotsSocial to Cursor’s MCP configuration to create drafts and schedule posts from your Agent conversation.
Eligible new users get free credits, valid for 90 days. No card required.
Example workflow
“Explain the new onboarding flow in this branch as a short founder update. Save LinkedIn and X drafts in LotsSocial, using this screenshot.”
A founder update prepared from the feature you just built.
From a feature branch to a founder update
01
Use the code as context
Ask Cursor to describe the feature and its user benefit. Give it your screenshot and any launch details that are not in the repository.
02
Add the remote MCP server
Use Cursor’s MCP configuration to add LotsSocial and authenticate. This guide uses the server directly, without a marketplace plugin.
03
Stay in the Agent conversation
Revise the drafts, choose connected accounts and schedule the approved content. Open LotsSocial when you want the visual calendar.
What can Cursor do with LotsSocial?
With a compatible connection, your agent can save drafts, schedule posts with images or video, manage connected accounts and retrieve available analytics. LotsSocial handles the publishing schedule; your agent supplies the content and instructions.
Supported networks: LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Google Business, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon. Platform-specific formats and media requirements still apply.
You need
- Cursor (any plan)
- A LotsSocial account, which is created when you first sign in. No card required.
Connect Cursor to LotsSocial
- 1
Open MCP settings
Open the Customize page from the Cursor sidebar, or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json directly.
- 2
Add LotsSocial
Add this server to your mcp.json.
{ "mcpServers": { "lotssocial": { "url": "https://api.lots.social/mcp" } } } - 3
Sign in
Cursor asks you to sign in the first time it connects. Finish the sign-in in your browser.
What to ask next
- “Write a post about the feature in this branch and save it as a draft”
Once connected, when you ask to connect an account, your agent gives you a link to open in your browser. Approve access on the network’s own page; the link works for an hour.
If something goes wrong
- The server shows an error
- Check the URL ends in /mcp, then reload the server from the Customize page to restart the sign-in.
Official setup documentation: Cursor: MCP.
MCP or REST API: use the connection your agent supports.
The remote MCP endpoint is shared. For scripts or an agent with HTTP tools, use the REST API and an API key.
