Schedule Social Media Posts with Gemini CLI
Give Gemini CLI access to LotsSocial’s remote MCP tools. Prepare social drafts alongside your project work, then schedule them for the accounts and times you choose.
Eligible new users get free credits, valid for 90 days. No card required.
Example workflow
“Use these release notes to draft one LinkedIn post and one X thread. Save them for review before scheduling.”
Reviewable release content saved from your Gemini CLI session.
A release summary becomes scheduled content
01
Work in the Gemini CLI session
Share the release notes or project context the announcement should use. This setup is for Gemini CLI, rather than assuming every Gemini chat surface supports MCP.
02
Authenticate the HTTP server
Add LotsSocial with Gemini’s MCP command and complete the browser sign-in. You do not need a LotsSocial extension.
03
Choose drafts or a schedule
Save early versions as drafts. Ask Gemini to schedule only when the content and release time are confirmed.
What can Gemini do with LotsSocial?
With a compatible connection, your agent can save drafts, schedule posts with images or video, manage connected accounts and retrieve available analytics. LotsSocial handles the publishing schedule; your agent supplies the content and instructions.
Supported networks: LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Google Business, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon. Platform-specific formats and media requirements still apply.
You need
- Gemini CLI
- A LotsSocial account, which is created when you first sign in. No card required.
Connect Gemini to LotsSocial
- 1
Add the server
Run this in your terminal.
gemini mcp add --transport http lotssocial https://api.lots.social/mcp - 2
Sign in
Inside Gemini CLI, run this and finish the sign-in in your browser.
/mcp auth lotssocial
What to ask next
- “Schedule this release note on LinkedIn for tomorrow morning”
Once connected, when you ask to connect an account, your agent gives you a link to open in your browser. Approve access on the network’s own page; the link works for an hour.
If something goes wrong
- lotssocial is disconnected
- Run /mcp auth lotssocial again.

MCP or REST API: use the connection your agent supports.
The remote MCP endpoint is shared. For scripts or an agent with HTTP tools, use the REST API and an API key.
