Schedule Social Media Posts with Hermes Agent
Add LotsSocial to Hermes Agent’s remote MCP configuration. Hermes can prepare the content and call the publishing tools; LotsSocial connects accounts and holds the schedule.
Eligible new users get free credits, valid for 90 days. No card required.
Example workflow
“Read this week’s product notes, prepare three LinkedIn drafts and save them in LotsSocial. Return the draft list for review.”
A short weekly draft list ready for the owner to review.
Your Hermes session prepares the next week of posts
01
Configure the Hermes runtime
Add the remote URL and private API-key header in Hermes configuration. Restart the session so it discovers the tools.
02
Give it source material
Share product notes or content to repurpose. Ask Hermes to use facts from that material when writing the drafts.
03
Schedule the selected drafts
Review the output in Hermes or the LotsSocial calendar, then choose the publication dates. Recurring tasks remain your Hermes configuration.
What can Hermes Agent do with LotsSocial?
With a compatible connection, your agent can save drafts, schedule posts with images or video, manage connected accounts and retrieve available analytics. LotsSocial handles the publishing schedule; your agent supplies the content and instructions.
Supported networks: LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Google Business, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon. Platform-specific formats and media requirements still apply.
You need
- Hermes Agent with MCP support
- A LotsSocial API key
- A LotsSocial account, which is created when you first sign in. No card required.
Connect Hermes Agent to LotsSocial
- 1
Add the HTTP server
Merge this server into mcp_servers in ~/.hermes/config.yaml. Store LOTSSOCIAL_API_KEY privately in ~/.hermes/.env; Hermes resolves the environment reference when it connects.
mcp_servers: lotssocial: url: "https://api.lots.social/mcp" headers: Authorization: "Bearer ${LOTSSOCIAL_API_KEY}" - 2
Restart Hermes
Restart your Hermes session to load the server and its tools.
- 3
Check the tools
Ask your agent to list your connected social accounts before asking it to create a draft.
What to ask next
- “List my connected social accounts”
- “Draft a launch post for LinkedIn and X; save both as drafts for me to review”
Once connected, when you ask to connect an account, your agent gives you a link to open in your browser. Approve access on the network’s own page; the link works for an hour.
If something goes wrong
- LotsSocial tools are not available
- Check that LotsSocial is enabled for this session and authentication has completed. Reload the connection or start a new session to refresh its tools.
Official setup documentation: Hermes: MCP.
MCP or REST API: use the connection your agent supports.
The remote MCP endpoint is shared. For scripts or an agent with HTTP tools, use the REST API and an API key.
