Post to Social Media from Grok Build
Connect Grok Build’s native MCP client to LotsSocial. Use the repository context to write the announcement, then save drafts or assign a schedule from the same terminal session.
Eligible new users get free credits, valid for 90 days. No card required.
Example workflow
“Use this release diff to explain the new export feature. Save a LinkedIn draft and an X draft in LotsSocial for review.”
Release drafts written from the change itself.
Build, explain, review, schedule
01
Use Grok Build’s HTTP MCP client
Add LotsSocial using grok mcp add. Browser OAuth handles sign-in; the MCP doctor command can diagnose connection failures.
02
Write from the change
Ask Grok Build to explain the user-visible improvement and avoid announcing unfinished behavior.
03
Assign the posting time
Approve the copy, add the media you want and ask Grok Build to schedule it. LotsSocial manages the social delivery.
What can Grok Build do with LotsSocial?
With a compatible connection, your agent can save drafts, schedule posts with images or video, manage connected accounts and retrieve available analytics. LotsSocial handles the publishing schedule; your agent supplies the content and instructions.
Supported networks: LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Google Business, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon. Platform-specific formats and media requirements still apply.
You need
- Grok Build with remote MCP support
- A LotsSocial account, which is created when you first sign in. No card required.
Connect Grok Build to LotsSocial
- 1
Add LotsSocial
Add the remote HTTP server from your terminal.
grok mcp add --transport http lotssocial https://api.lots.social/mcp - 2
Sign in
Grok Build starts a browser sign-in for servers that use OAuth on first use. Complete LotsSocial sign-in; /mcps also offers authentication.
- 3
Check the tools
Ask your agent to list your connected social accounts before asking it to create a draft.
What to ask next
- “List my connected social accounts”
- “Draft a launch post for LinkedIn and X; save both as drafts for me to review”
Once connected, when you ask to connect an account, your agent gives you a link to open in your browser. Approve access on the network’s own page; the link works for an hour.
If something goes wrong
- LotsSocial tools are not available
- Check that LotsSocial is enabled for this session and authentication has completed. Reload the connection or start a new session to refresh its tools.

MCP or REST API: use the connection your agent supports.
The remote MCP endpoint is shared. For scripts or an agent with HTTP tools, use the REST API and an API key.
