Getting Started

7 questions

What is LotsSocial?

LotsSocial is a social media management platform that lets you schedule and auto-post content across 12 networks — Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit, and Google Business. It also includes a built-in AI agent that can plan, draft, review, and schedule content for you.

Which social media platforms does LotsSocial support?

Twelve networks: Facebook (Pages), Instagram (feed), X (posts), LinkedIn (profiles and company pages), YouTube (videos and Shorts), TikTok (videos and photo posts), Pinterest (pins and boards), Google Business (location updates, events, offers, and CTA buttons), Reddit (text, link, image, and gallery posts with subreddit and flair options), Mastodon, Bluesky, and Threads. We're continuously adding more.

How do I sign up?

Click "Start with 1,500 free credits" on the homepage or visit /auth. Sign up with your email (or via SSO). Your account receives a one-time grant of 1,500 LotsTech Credits, valid for 30 days — enough to connect an account and publish real posts. No card required. Once signed in you'll land on your dashboard.

How do I connect my social media accounts?

Go to /accounts, click "Connect Account", pick a platform, and authorize through the platform's official OAuth flow. We never see or store your social media passwords.

How do I create my first post?

Go to /post, write your caption, add media if the platform needs it, choose the accounts or brand to target, then publish immediately, schedule for later, or save as a draft. You can customize the caption per platform before publishing.

What is a brand?

A brand groups your business identity — a business profile, a long-term social goal, and the accounts that belong to it. You set these up under /accounts → Brands. The AI agent uses your brand's profile and goal whenever it plans or drafts content.

Can I try it free?

Yes, and without a card. Every new account gets a one-time grant of 1,500 LotsTech Credits, valid for 30 days, and monthly and annual plans start with a 7-day free trial. Plans include an account and storage pool; brands, workspaces, team members and posts are unlimited. You can opt in to keep additional accounts or storage using LotsTech Credits.

Scheduling & Publishing

8 questions

What timezone is used for scheduling posts?

Scheduled times are stored in UTC and shown in your local browser timezone in the composer and calendar. You can set a default timezone under Settings → Preferences.

How far in advance can I schedule posts?

Scheduled times must be at least 1 minute in the future and no more than 1 year ahead. This is useful for planning holiday campaigns, product launches, or maintaining a consistent posting schedule.

Can I schedule posts for different platforms at different times?

No — a single post publishes at the same time on all selected platforms. However, you can customize the caption and media for each platform, and create separate posts with different times when platforms need to go out at different moments.

Can I edit or cancel scheduled posts?

Yes. Open the post from /posts or the calendar to edit its content, target accounts, or time, or cancel it entirely before it publishes.

What happens if a scheduled post fails to publish?

LotsSocial retries failed posts (up to 3 attempts with exponential backoff). If a platform still rejects the post, it is marked as failed with the per-platform error recorded, and you receive an email with the failure details.

What is bulk scheduling?

Bulk scheduling (/bulk-schedule) lets you import many posts at once from a CSV or Excel (.csv, .xlsx, .xls) file, add media, adjust captions, and schedule everything in one go. Available on paid plans.

Can I post to multiple accounts at the same time?

Yes — select several connected accounts or use an account group, and LotsSocial publishes to all of them in parallel. You can review each platform's caption before it goes out.

Which platforms require media?

Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and TikTok require at least one image or video. Every other platform can publish text-only posts.

AI Agent & Captions

7 questions

What is the LotsSocial agent?

It's the built-in AI assistant in the dashboard sidebar. It can plan your content, draft platform-specific posts, review drafts against your brand, rewrite them, and schedule them — always with your approval.

Where can I use the agent?

Four ways: the sidebar in the app, by emailing lots-social@lotsagent.com from your account email, through Telegram by messaging @LotsSocialBot (requires a one-time connection so the bot knows which customer and brand it's working for), and with voice dictation inside the app.

Can the agent publish without my approval?

No. By default every post drafts first — you review, edit, and sign off before anything goes live. You can trust specific recurring tasks to auto-publish, but that's always your choice.

How does AI caption generation work?

Select your accounts, optionally describe what you want to say, and LotsSocial generates a caption tuned to each platform's format and character limits. AI generation uses LotsTech Credits.

What are post reviews and rewrites?

Before publishing, you can have the agent review a draft for originality, factual grounding, platform fit, CTA, and media judgement — and then get a rewrite based on that review. You see exactly what passed and what failed.

How does the agent use my brand context?

It uses your business profile, your long-term social goal, and any active campaign's plan to plan and draft content. Set these up under /accounts → Brands. When a post needs a real customer story, a screenshot, or this week's offer, the agent asks you rather than inventing it.

What are LotsTech Credits?

Credits pay for AI generation and agent compute, plus account or storage overflow you explicitly approve. Monthly and annual plans grant credits every month (Starter: 3,500, Plus: 7,500, Pro: 16,000, Agency: 40,000), shared across Lots apps. Annual grants arrive on your subscription anniversary day each month. Credits you buy yourself never expire. Plan credits roll over while your subscription is active, up to three months' worth, and stay usable for 60 days after cancellation. You can top up from the sidebar or billing page.

Media & Content

5 questions

What file formats and sizes can I upload?

Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and more. Videos: MP4, MOV, and others. Uploads can be up to 200 MB, but every platform has its own stricter limits — the composer validates your media against the platforms you select before you publish.

Are there different size requirements per platform?

Yes. Examples: Facebook images up to 4 MB, Instagram 8 MB, X 5 MB, Pinterest 8 MB, LinkedIn 8 MB, Google Business 5 MB, Reddit 20 MB, and Bluesky 1 MB per image. Video limits also vary (e.g., X videos up to 2:20, Bluesky 60 seconds, Threads 5 minutes). LotsSocial shows the exact requirement for the platforms you choose.

Can I reuse media files across posts?

Yes. Everything you upload is saved in your Media Library (/media), where you can organize files into folders, tag them, and reuse them across as many posts as you like.

Does LotsSocial resize or convert my files?

No. LotsSocial validates each file against the platforms you've selected and tells you exactly what's wrong (format, size, duration), but you're responsible for preparing the file. Compress or convert media before uploading to avoid rejections.

What counts toward my storage quota?

Media you keep in the library counts against the subscription-wide pool: 5 GB on Starter, 15 GB on Plus, 50 GB on Pro, and 150 GB on Agency. If you approve overflow, only storage above that pool uses credits, calculated daily. Removing media stops future daily overflow charges but does not refund the current day.

Accounts & Connections

6 questions

What do the account statuses mean?

Active — ready to post. Needs refresh — the access token is expiring or expired and must be reconnected. Error — the last action failed; check the error message or reconnect. Disconnected — the account was removed.

How do I handle expired access tokens?

Go to /accounts, find the affected account, and click "Reconnect" to run the OAuth flow again. You'll also receive a notification when a token is about to expire.

What happens if I disconnect a social media account?

The account is removed from LotsSocial. Posts already published stay live on the platform. If any content still references the account, the disconnect may be blocked — remove that content first, then try again. You can reconnect at any time.

Do you store my social media passwords?

No. Every connection uses OAuth 2.0, so you authorize directly with the platform and we only store the access token it issues. Passwords never touch our servers.

What are managed providers?

Some platforms (TikTok, LinkedIn Pages, Google Business, and Reddit) connect through a trusted partner OAuth service instead of a direct app registration. The flow looks the same to you — you just authorize with the platform once.

Can I organize accounts into groups?

Yes — create account groups under /accounts to post to several related accounts at once and keep your workflow organized.

Campaigns & Analytics

7 questions

What is a campaign?

A campaign is a goal, a timeframe, and an editable plan — plus every post that belongs to it. Campaigns structure planning, drafting, and results review. You can also post entirely without campaigns.

Do I have to run campaigns?

No. If you just want steady presence, start an always-on campaign and keep posting — you still get the plan, the drafts, and the results. Campaigns with a goal and an end date are best for launches, promotions, and seasonal pushes.

How does analytics attribution work?

Every post keeps its campaign attribution, so results stay tied to the campaign it was written for — even when engagement arrives after the campaign ends.

What analytics are available?

Per-post and workspace analytics: impressions, likes, comments, shares, and more, with filters for platform, account, brand, campaign, and date range — plus audience growth snapshots over time.

Why is analytics unavailable for some posts?

Some platforms don't report engagement for all post types (for example, LinkedIn requires special API approval, and some provider integrations don't expose metrics). When a platform cannot report, the post is marked accordingly instead of showing zeros.

How often is analytics refreshed?

A background job refreshes analytics on a schedule. You can also trigger an on-demand refresh from the analytics page for recent posts (subject to a cooldown per post).

What is a retrospective?

When a campaign ends, the agent writes a dated AI retrospective of what worked and what didn't, alongside your own conclusion — so you can carry lessons into the next campaign.

Teams & Workspaces

5 questions

What is a workspace?

A workspace is your team's shared space — accounts, posts, media, and analytics. A personal workspace is just you; a team workspace adds members with roles and permissions.

What roles are available?

Owner — full access including workspace settings and billing. Admin — full access to content, accounts, and team members. Manager — can create, edit, and publish content, and manage account groups. Creator — can create drafts and edit their own drafts; publishing requires approval. Viewer — can view content and connect accounts.

How do I invite team members?

Go to /workspaces, open your workspace, and use "Invite Member". Members join by email invitation and their role's permissions apply immediately.

How many workspaces and team members can I have?

Every paid plan includes unlimited workspaces and unlimited team members. Neither is metered.

Can team members share the same connected accounts?

Yes — accounts live in the workspace, so everyone with access to the workspace can use them, subject to their role's permissions.

Billing & Plans

8 questions

What plans are available?

Starter includes 5 connected accounts, 5 GB storage and 3,500 credits monthly. Plus includes 15 accounts, 15 GB and 7,500 credits monthly. Pro includes 35 accounts, 50 GB and 16,000 credits monthly. Agency includes 100 accounts, 150 GB and 40,000 credits monthly. All tiers include unlimited brands, workspaces, team members and posts. Annual plans use the same capacity and monthly credit grants; lifetime plans keep their capacity forever and include a one-time purchased-credit grant.

What is LAUNCH60?

Our founding member offer: enter LAUNCH60 at checkout for 60% off every plan, for as long as you stay subscribed. It's limited to the first 20 members — once full, the code closes.

Is there a free trial?

Two things. Every new account gets 1,500 LotsTech Credits once, valid 30 days — a connected account costs 1,000 credits a month, so that covers roughly one account for a month with room to publish. Separately, monthly and annual plans start with a 7-day trial so you can try a full plan before committing. Lifetime plans are one-time purchases and do not have a trial.

Can I change or cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades apply at renewal. Cancellation keeps plan coverage through the paid period. Accounts and media are never deleted: after coverage ends, anything you keep becomes credit-funded overflow if you enabled it, otherwise the newest unpinned resources are suspended. Purchased credits never expire; unused plan-granted credits remain usable for 60 days after cancellation.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payments are processed securely by Polar. We accept major credit cards, digital wallets, and various regional payment methods depending on your location.

Do you offer refunds?

Please see our refund policy at /refund-policy for full details. You can cancel your subscription at any time to avoid future charges.

What is lifetime access?

A one-time payment option whose included account and storage capacity never expires. It includes a one-time grant of purchased LotsTech Credits, which also never expire. It does not receive recurring monthly credits.

What happens if I hit a plan limit?

For connected accounts and media, you can approve credit-funded overflow or upgrade. Overflow is the amount you hold above the plan pool and is charged per UTC day using the exact number of days in that month. Posts, brands, workspaces and team members are unlimited. If credits run out, pinned resources stay covered first, then the oldest resources; newest overflow is suspended and nothing is deleted.

API & Developers

7 questions

What is the LotsSocial API?

A REST API (v1) for headless publishing — create, schedule, and check posts from your own apps, scripts, or integrations. Everything lives at https://api.lots.social, with full documentation at https://api.lots.social/docs.

How do I get an API key?

Create a key from the API dashboard at https://api.lots.social/dashboard. Keys start with sk_. Copy it immediately — it's only shown once. Treat it like a password; keys can be revoked at any time.

What can I do with the API?

List your connected accounts, upload media, create posts (publish now, schedule, or draft), update posts, check post status, and cancel scheduled posts.

Do I need a paid plan to use the API?

API posting is unlimited. The accounts and media used by API requests must have active entitlements, and AI or agent work uses shared LotsTech Credits.

Is the API rate-limited?

Yes — requests are rate-limited per API key to protect the service. If you exceed the limit you'll receive a 429 response with a Retry-After header.

Do you offer webhooks?

Webhooks exist for billing and partner integrations today. Developer-facing webhook delivery is part of the API roadmap — check the API docs for what's currently available.

What is MCP?

LotsSocial exposes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://api.lots.social/mcp so external AI agents you connect can work with your brands, campaigns, and content. You'll also find the connection details in the "Connect your own agent" panel in the app.

Security & Privacy

6 questions

How secure are my social media credentials?

We use OAuth 2.0 everywhere — we never see your social media passwords. Access tokens are stored securely and encrypted, and all data is isolated per user and workspace with row-level security.

Do you sell my data?

No. We only share data with social platforms when you post and with payment providers when you make a purchase. See our Privacy Policy at /privacy-policy for full details.

Where is my data stored?

Your media files are stored in Cloudflare R2 and your account data lives in a PostgreSQL database. All connections are encrypted in transit.

Is my data private within a team workspace?

Yes — data is scoped to your workspace, and members can only see what their role allows. Row-level security enforces this on every table.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Security → Delete Account. This is irreversible and permanently removes your posts, media, and connected accounts.

Is two-factor authentication available?

Not yet — 2FA and in-app password changes are on our roadmap. In the meantime, sign-in happens through our secure auth service (auth.lots.social) and all sessions are encrypted.

Troubleshooting & Support

6 questions

A scheduled post didn't publish. Why?

Open the post in /posts to see its per-platform status and error. Common causes: the connected account's token expired (reconnect it), the platform rejected the media (check format and size), or the account was disconnected.

An account shows "Needs refresh". What do I do?

The access token is expiring or has expired. Go to /accounts and click "Reconnect" to reauthorize with the platform — it usually takes less than a minute.

My upload was rejected.

Check the error message — the file must match the platform's format, size, and duration limits. Compress or convert the file and try again. See the Media & Content section above for the per-platform limits.

I can't log in.

Sign-in is handled by our auth service at auth.lots.social. Try resetting your password from the login page, or contact support if you're using SSO and it fails.

Where can I check if the service is down?

Visit https://status.lotstech.com for live service health, including API, database, scheduling queue, and media processing status.

How do I contact support?

Use the form at https://support.lots.social/contact, email contact@lotstech.com, or reach the founder directly — the links are in the app and on the LotsSocial home page.
